Chadzboyz.com is designed to serve the needs of the GLBT (gay, lesbian, bi, trans) community with a focus on the teen years, during which so many issues relating to "being gay" arise. We feel that the website provides GLBT youths frank and honest advice on issues of importance to them. In addition, we provide the young gay community with a space of their own to showcase their opinions, poetry, short stories, blogs and more. We cover the latest in gay news and provide information every young person should know about sex and sexually transmitted infections. We sometimes hear teens asking us if the purpose of chadzboyz is to scare teens away from having sex. It is not our intention to do so. ChadzBoyz retains a sex-positive attitude and believes that it is important for teens to be aware of the risks of having sex and to practice safer sex should they decide to become sexually active.

The associated Chadzboyz forum adheres to the same policies. The following information is provided to assist you in your decision as to whether the forum is appropriate for your children. Our basic rule is to state any opinion that you have but you must respect other members even if you disagree with their point of view. Failure to comply will result in withdrawal of access, privileges or even suspension. To ensure order and member safety, the site is supervised by a number of adults, some of whom with educational backgrounds. While this forum's target audience is primarily teenagers, we welcome people of all ages to register and take part in the forum as long as their intentions are pure and that they are not utilising this forum for sexual preys. We require new members to first make at least 10 posts in the forum before being accepted as regular members as asecurity measure in accordance to the aforementioned policy. These posts are then evaluated by a team of our forum members called the NMM, which stands for New Member Moderators. The applicants are granted full membership once their posts are reviewed as substantial and appropriate for the forum by the NMMs. If the applicants' posts suggest ulterior motives, the applications will be rejected and the situation will be dealt with accordingly.

In addition to New Member Moderators, there is a second security measure in which some members are promoted to the role of Global Moderator. This team is responsible for the general behaviour and discipline on the forum. If the Moderators encounter problems they cannot solve, we have some adult Supervisors to guide them in making decisions. Although being a support forum means we try our best to help everyone to interact harmoniously in each other's favour, sometimes discipline is inevitable should members choose to disrespect the rules of the forum.

Lastly, we have the Chadzboyz Advice Team, CAT in short, composed of members who are motivated and experienced in listening and giving informed advice to other members who may be undergoing issues that require peer support. They deal with issues such as coming out, self-mutilation, problems at home, depression and suicidal thoughts. CAT also endeavours to foster positive and healthy self-esteem among the members.

Many parents may be concerned about the leak of personal information while contemplating registration to a GLBT forum. We would like to reiterate that this forum is NOT a dating or sex site and personal details are to remain confidential at all times. We work arduously to ensure the forum is safe for teens. For many teens who feel isolated and depressed about being of a sexual orientation or gender identity different from the norm, the forum can provide a space in which they feel comfortable and connected, as well as a place for them to network with many other teens who are in the same position. We have the fortune to receive many positive testimonies from teens after their departure from the forum on how the forum has assisted them in their improvement of self-confidence and their overall characteristics. For our administrative staff composed of teens, this is a great opportunity to show and learn leadership skills which can very well be put to good use later on in life.
